How to automate community with IFTTT - Tripp Stanford

IFTTT (If This Then That) is a web-based SaaS and mobile app that enables you to create automated workflows by connecting apps, devices, and services. While it’s not especially powerful, it is incredibly easy to use.

IFTTT can automatically do things like:

  • Add songs you ‘like’ on YouTube to your Spotify playlist.

  • Save your Instagram uploads to Dropbox.

  • Pause your Roomba when your phone rings.

    Plus much more.

This video from IFTTT featuring Tripp Stanford is a demonstration of how the app works. You can search for specific services or topics you’re interested in, such as “Android,” “music,” “Philips Hue,” or “YouTube.”

P.S. For professional automation use cases, you might want to consider a more robust tool such as Make.
