Canva is coming for more competitors

The Canva Create 2025 event was last week, where new product updates were announced and demonstrated. Some highlights:

• After deleting an image background (a signature capability of Canva), you can now AI prompt a new background to be added. It does a great job.

• There are some simple voice and voice translation capabilities. These aren’t super advanced or realistic, but it’s just V1 so improvements are probably coming.

• There’s a color adjustment feature similar to Photoshop’s Selective Color, which looks even easier to use.

• AI/vibe coding is being tested in some accounts and will be released widely soon.

• You can add auto-generated video captioning.

PS, I’ve watched a few vids on the Canva updates, and the app homepage interface is different in every one. Clearly, they are doing some serious UI testing before deploying all updates to everyone.
